Titin was a fitness gear company founded by Patrick Whaley to enhance muscle and build stamina. Their main product was gel-weighted compression vests.
The vests had gel inserts that could be heated or cooled, providing additional benefits for post-workout recovery.
During Patrick’s early teenage years, he would carry a weighted backpack as a way to build muscles. However, due to the discomfort, he wanted to create a more comfortable weighted clothing.
While pursuing bodybuilding and studying mechanical engineering at Georgia Tech, Patrick began prototyping his idea. To turn the idea into reality, they did a crowdfunding campaign, successfully raising over $100,000 on Kickstarter and an additional $1 million on Fundable.

Details
Patrick asked for $500,000 for 5% equity in the business (the small equity stake was justified by their sales figures). Just a month before filming Shark Tank, Patrick reported nearly $1 million in sales, with $600,000 in the previous year alone. These figures intrigued the sharks, though they remained cautious.
Mark Cuban expressed doubts due to some of Patrick’s scientific claims and exited the deal. Robert Herjavec found Patrick’s presentation unclear and decided against investing and Lori Greiner also opted out.
However, Kevin O’Leary and Draymond John offered a deal. Kevin offered $500,000 for 15% equity and Daymond proposed $500,000 for 20% equity. After some consideration, Patrick accepted Daymond’s offer.
What Happened to Titin After Shark Tank
In the Shark Tank spin-off, Beyond the Tank, it was revealed that Daymond later increased his offer to $1 million for 50% equity after further investigation into the company which Patrick accepted again.
After the show, Titin sales were going well, with the gear available at major retailers like Walmart and Amazon. Customer reviews were positive and high-profile athletes such as Jonny Gomes, Dustin Pedroia, and Paul Millsap began using the product.
However, things took a turn when fraud allegations started when another entrepreneur claimed the technology was stolen. While the case did not progress legally, it impacted the company significantly.
Is Titin Still in Business?
As of 2021, Titin is no longer in operation. The official website is inactive, and the company’s social media accounts, including Instagram, have not been updated for years.
